Green light for a one-of-a-kind partnership: On 1 September, Bentley Motors and Graf von Faber-Castell are launching the “Graf von Faber-Castell for Bentley” collection – luxurious writing instruments and accessories that perfectly combine timeless design, passion for precision and superb craftsmanship.
The collection boasts three ranges of writing instruments and matching accessories. All products were jointly designed, developed and launched by Graf von Faber-Castell in close partnership with the Bentley team. This project is an exciting new experience for the German luxury brand, as it is the first time that Graf von Faber-Castell is working together with UK partners.
Writing instruments and accessories that set the tone in Viper Green, Gulf Blue, India Red
Timeless yet perfectly in fashion: the statement colours we all love are now setting the tone. Lush greens, blues and red shine auspiciously, invigorate and immediately play the fashionable lead role. But they don't only brighten up our wardrobes. We’re also bringing signal colours to your desk! The Graf von Faber-Castell Collection now has writing instruments and accessories for the workplace, briefcase and handbag in Viper Green, Gulf Blue and India Red. Incidentally, they are also classic motor racing colours that can therefore also send men’s hearts aflutter! The colourful ensemble includes the Guilloche fountain pen and Guilloche twist ballpoint pen. The writing instruments’ name comes from the grain guilloche, an intricate engraving procedure that enables the surface relief to change colour depending on how light hits it. Matching ink is available in an elegant bottle and as cartridges in a 20-pack gift set or folding six-pack.
The Pen of the Year series began in 2003 and has established a firm place among connoisseurs of fine writing culture.
These exclusive writing implements appear in limited editions and present unusual materials fashioned by hand with great skill. Each Pen of the Year tells a story of an epoch and people whose deeds made a strong impression on the
history of mankind. This year it centres on an empire that extended over three continents: Europe, Africa, and Asia. Even today, in the early 3rd millennium, it still exerts immeasurable influence on our world: the Imperium Romanum.
The Pen of the Year 2017 has been recognised by the German Design Council with the German Design Award in the category “Luxury Goods”.
The international expert jury, consisting of brand experts from different disciplines, praised the “outstanding design quality” of the exclusive, limited-edition fountain pen: the titanium version of the Pen of the Year 2017 has an anthracite-coloured PVD coating that gives it a particularly masculine appearance. Matte grey smoked oak – the wood of choice for the construction of Viking boats – creates a striking contrast to the high-gloss metal surface which changes colour as it is being used (www.graf-von-faber-castell.com). The German Design Award recognises innovative products and projects, their manufacturers and designers that are pioneering in the German and international design landscape.

Timeless, classic, elegant – and now also available in black: The Perfect Pencil in magnum format
Autumn brings with it a desire for shades that radiate strength and depth. That makes this the right time to present the Perfect Pencil – the magnum from the Graf von Faber-Castell Collection – in a colour that unites all these elements: black. The look may be new, but the absolute functionality remains: the Perfect Pencil provides ideal support when writing or sketching. The cap has a PVD coating made of titanium, which makes the surface change colour elegantly from light to dark. The protective cap doubles up as a pencil extender and incorporates a sharpener that can be extracted with a simple pull. Under the cap of the coronet there is a replaceable eraser that makes correction quick and easy
